General Information about the Sacramento County Fair
The best part about this event is that it’s low cost, so you don’t have to worry about spending a small fortune in order to have lots of fun. In fact, as far as admission is concerned, kids that are 12 and under do not have to pay a single penny to enter the fairgrounds. Adults and children over the age of 12 have to pay a $6 admission fee, which really isn’t that much in the grand scheme of things.
For parking your car, you’ll have to pay a $10 parking fee. You could attempt to look for parking outside of the event, but you’ll probably have to end up driving for quite a while in order to get a free space. So it may be in your best interest to pay the $10 parking fee and have a much better space close to the venue itself.
As far as bicycle parking is concerned, there is going to be some space for visitors to park their bicycles near the Rodeo Gate Entrance. Please be aware that this bike space is definitely going to be limited, so there’s no guarantee you will be able to park your bike because the spaces are going to fill up fast. The good thing is that you will not have to pay for bicycle parking, so if you get here early enough, you should have no trouble grabbing a bike parking spot so you can enjoy the fair for the entire day.
As far as the fair hours go, on May 24 through May 27, Thursday through Sunday, the fair begins at 10 AM and ends at 10 PM. On Monday the 28th, which is actually Memorial Day, the fair will begin at 10 AM and close at 7 PM.
If you’re interested in going to the carnival, it will be open from 11 AM to 10 PM on May 24 through the 27th, which is Thursday through Sunday. Again, on the 28th of Memorial Day, the carnival hours are from 11 AM to 7 PM, which is actually the real closing time of the fair.
Last but certainly not least, there are going to be 30 thrilling and fun filled carnival rides for children of all ages. These rides are so exciting that it makes the entire experience a lot more magical, interesting and a heck of a lot of fun for the smallest guests and even the big kids too.

In 2018, the fair is going to have three spectacular Grandstand Events taking place on three separate times during the five day event.
The first grandstand event is going to be held on Friday, May 25, at 7 PM. This event is known as the Toughest Monster Truck Tour, and it’s truly an amazing and spectacular sight to behold. If you’ve ever wanted to see Bigfoot style monster trucks destroy cars, jump off of ramps, and otherwise do some amazing feats, then you’re definitely going to enjoy this exhilarating event this year.
The second grandstand event is going to be on May 26 at 7 PM. It is known as the Stars & Stripes Bullriding and it’s going to be a whole lot of fun for those who love the rodeo and really enjoy watching expert bull riders tame these majestic beasts.
Finally, the third grandstand event is the Tractor Pulls. This sensational show is going to happen on Monday, May 28, at 1 PM. But you can show up as early as noon to make sure you get one of the best seats in the house. Tractor pulls are always thrilling to watch and we expect this year’s event to be truly amazing.
If any of these awesome Grandstand Events sound like they are up your alley, we recommend showing up early to make sure you can find great seats.
